Trip to Jurong Bird Park

Yo yo everyone! We are back again and this time it's going to be all about our trip to Jurong Bird Park! :D Does this somehow bring back some of your childhood memories that you went there with your Family, Kindergarden or Primary school when you are much younger? :D You must be wondering why we went to Jurong Bird Park right? Well, this is because Sheryl won herself a pair of ticket from a lucky draw so we decided to go and explore since we haven't be there for ages! And of course we took lots of photo so we decided why not post it on our blog and share our experience there with you guys! Teehee :D So let START START START~!

Just a little history about Jurong Bird Park:
Jurong Bird Park is known as a tourist attraction in Singapore that is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore that is a landscaped park that is being built on the western slope of Jurong Hill which is located within Boon Lay Planning area of the Jurong district. (Yes, we copied that from wiki.... *give credit*)

So both of us meet at 9.30am early in the morning to get to Jurong Bird Park. It is really very easy to get there but very time consuming, you just need to take to Boo Lay MRT station and take one stop from bus 251 or 194 from Boo Lay Bus Interchange (to be more extract it is inside Jurong Point shopping mall) and you are there already! Easy isn't it?

We finally arrived at Jurong Bird Park after about 45min-1hour of travelling (Yesh, we know it is super long but it really depend on where you stay!) and we started our whole day trip there!

(Note: We are not going exactly going to state the whole places we went at the bird park because it's going to be a super long post about it and we do not want to sound long winded. And, not only people will get bored, we will get bored too! HAHAHA! >< )

First stop we went to the Penguin Coast. In the Penguin Coast there are four types of different species of penguin (The Humboldt, Rockhopper, Macaroni and King Penguin) that all are being put together in the same place but is clearing arrange in the different types of species they are from. Outside the enclosure, there is also another type of penguin called the African Penguins also known as the Jackass Penguin which are able to adapt to the hot weather. (Super COOL isn't it? we didn't even know there is penguin that can live under the hot weather in singapore!)

Next we went to watch the High Flyer Show which we are able to see super cool performance from different types of birds that is being highly trained by the keepers in the bird park and lets us tell you, this is a totally must go performance show when you visit here! During the show, Angelyn really wanted to participate in one of the tricks but due to us sitting in front she didn't get the chance so is quite disappointing~ (so let us give you a tip, if you really want to tried out the tricks, you better sit behind! because they usually call from the behind from what we observe. :D)

Moving on, we went to the Lory Loft where we can get to interact and get up close with the birds in there! We both fall in love with this place as we get to feed the bird. You just simply have to buy the food at $3 each cup. To us this is like the most experience place we went out of all the places in the bird park even though we are somehow scared of bird... :D

I was scared to death when the lorry jumped onto my hand man!! [Angelyn]
After that we went to the World tallest man-made waterfall to take a look at it (not sure whether it is world tallest through :?) well we can say that this is the second place we like the most because the view in here is totally no joke and the concept of this place is really beautiful.

Yellow-Billed Stock

Just nice it's 2pm and we went for the Pelican Chit Chat Session! (FYI even though it stated that it is the Pelican Chit Chat Session, the Pelican doesn't chit chat with you! Hahaha! XD) During this session the trainer in the bird park will tell us facts about the pelicans and give us question to win prizes!

Thanks to Angelyn who answered a question thats being asked, we get to feed the pelicans for free! (if you want to feed them you need buy the fish at $2 per pack!) This means that Angelyn have been listening to the trainer explanation *CLAPSS FOR HER PEOPLE HAHA* (*er hum* The Jurong Bird Park has 7 out of 8 species of pelicans in the world! Their beak can hold up to 13L of water and only the brown pelicans can dive etc.. HAHA That's all Angelyn can remembered)

We end off our trip with a late lunch at Bongo Burgers, one of the food restaurant in the bird park! We went there because we through this place is very detailed and super cool as there are animal style chairs that we are in love with!! (very childish I know but can't help >< if you visit this restaurant you may have the same reaction as us or maybe not? hahaha :D) but the price of the food is really not that pretty ~

Food Review: Cake Spade

Sup guys! we are back with our second blog post or should we said official first blog post? (haha cause the previous one is just introducing us which is abit boring i know~, but if you want to consider it as first post then alright!:D) So today post is going to be about foodssss! We swear you need to continue reading it cause this place is a must go. So lets start AH GO GO GO~

Cake Spade is a cute mini shop located near Tanjong Pagar MRT station that can only seat 14 customers. Although it is not big in size, but they do sell a varieties of cakes, cupcakes, drinks etc that are super nice and the place is really cozy! We tried the Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake, Red Velvet Cake and Humming Bird Cake which are all at a very reasonable price! (we will go into details in a bit :D )

Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake
Price: $5.90

Look like Tofu isn't it?

The ratio of the jelly and cheese cake is just right. But we think it should have more crust although the main focus is the cheese part as we love digestive biscuit! (hahah) It is very smooth and silky (like duhh, what are we saying, its called tofu LOL) and the strawberry topping that is together with the jelly are very fresh unlike some other strawberry cake you taste that is super sour or even looked that it has been there for days.. Overall it is a really refreshing cake that won't get sick eating it! ( FYI no tofu is being used to bake/make this cake! the *Tofu* name is only used to describe the texture of it! :B)

Rating by us : 8.5/10 (Angelyn and Sheryl)

Red Velvet Cake
Price:$5.90

For us we think that there is pros and cons for this Red Velvet Cake. The pros is that it is really moist and not really sweet, it is just the right taste! but for the cons is that cream cheese at the top is really thick although it is really light, we think that this should be shared among friends as if you eat alone, you will be a bit sick of it~ Or you can just put aside the thick portion of cream cheese! HABAHA  (but if you are like cream cheese a lot then it should be fine for you to eat alone! ) but it is still nice afterall! :D

Rating by us: 7~7.5/10 (Angelyn and Sheryl)

Because sheryl is still hungry after the 2 slices of cake(she didn't eat breakfast~ hahaha), we ordered another cake which is this! It have many good remarks in reviews we read! :D

Humming Bird Cake
Price: $5.90

It is very moist, but personally we feel that it is a little bit sweet but we think that maybe is because of the fruit in it (coconut, banana and pineapple) At first you will taste till the coconut taste then banana and then pineapple which is really cool cause is like you are able to taste so many taste in one!(actually not many la, just 3 only hahah) But we do not really recommend to those who does not like coconut as it will taste a bit strong for you (well for Angelyn :P) but overall its NICE la !

Rating by us: 8.5/10 (Sheryl) 7.5/10 (Angelyn)

Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey
Price: $3.50

Even though this drink said that it consist Ginseng but it does not really have the taste of it but more of green tea and honey which the honey acts as nature sweetener? hahah but overall it is good and refreshing! (we do recommend you to drink this while eating the cakes cause it is really refreshing but you can  choose other drink tooo! no worries! :D)

Overview: Overall we think cake spade is the must go in your list! We mean where can you find a place that sell varieties of cakes that is both nice and at really reasonable price? It is also a place where you can gather with your friends for a small meet up or a date with your love or even go there to have some high tea like some rich tai tai! HAHAH XD
